The competition is aimed at promoting start-ups and entrepreneurship in the Consumer Goods and Food Processing (CG & FP) industry as part of the broader goal of enhancing the employability and (self-) employment opportunities of students and graduates in the Ghanaian economy. In 2019, BET-Ghana received over 80 business plans and selected 10 businesses to attend the BET-Ghana business coaching program. The business coaching program starts with a 2 weeks coaching in Germany and continous coaching and mentoring support from the BET-Ghana team and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development (CESED) at the University of Cape Coast.
The BET-Ghana Business Plan Competition is an initiative of the BET-Ghana project, a trans- disciplinary research and transfer project between the University of Cape Coast and the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
