Increasing employability and student entrepreneurial activities in Ghana.

Ten young businesses were selected from the BET-Ghana business plan competition. Nathan Addo Larbi was one of the successful winners and participated in a business plan training organized at the Sankt Augustin campus of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Germany. In the role of a marketing executive, Nathan supports SK bakeries in driving the companies sales and marketing strategy.

SK Fruity Bakery is a manufacturer and retailer of bakery products made from agricultural or natural ingredients. Before joining the first cohort finalists for the BET-Ghana Business Plan competition, Nathan and his team operated a small bakery. But since the training, Nathan and his team have recorded more than a 100% growth in daily sales. According to Nathan, SK bakery needs to expand its operations to meet up customer demand.

Nathan applied the skills learned during the BET-Ghana training to support his team in winning a $10,000 grant.“Honestly, BET-Ghana has brought a positive impact on our bakery business. The training we had in Germany helped us to develop special skills in terms of product quality, packaging, and good customer relationship, which have made it difficult for our competitors to compete with us,” says Nathan Addo Larbi.
